I also had this problem, and took the suggestion to disable connection to facebook. After that it no longer crashed on start, but using the search function will still crash spotify.

@Rolle. Do not use the winhttp.dll from the link above, which is a windows 7 dll. Use a native windows xp winhttp.dll, set your wine windows version to windows xp and you´re good to go. At least it worked for me.

Solution to the error 1316: Before uninstalling the ask toolbar, you have to deactivate the toolbar from Every browser it is attached in. In every browser the ask toolbar has a deactivation setting. After that you should be able to uninstall it from windows normaly

If you have migrated the site to a new server – don’t forget to edit the database details of the new site in – bbconfig.php.

In the same location as wpconfig.php.

This will fix the issue.

There is some weird window. I was able to work around by killing the window manager (in KDE, “killall kwin”) and then closing the spotify dialogs. After that, I ran kwin again (“kwin &”), and seems to work now. In Ubuntu, you probably should be able to replace the “kwin” with “unity”, but I have not tested that, so don’t try that if you have any unsaved work, because it might cause your log-in session to go haywire…

Also, for me, only the alternative version from dll-files.com worked, and I had to set the library to (native, builtin) from winecfg – although I think that might be the default value anyway.

I installed Spotify using winetricks so to update the .dll file you also need to use Winetricks.

open winetricks -> Select spotify (Spotify – All the music, all the time) –> hit OK -> Click Install a Windows DLL or component –> hit OK –> Scroll all the way down to winhttp and select and hit OK.

Also you might need to tell it to run in windows xp in winetricks by going to “Change settings” instead of “Install a Windows DLL or component” Once your in change setting scroll ALLLL the way down to the bottom and select winxp and hit OK.

This got it working for me using ubuntu 11.10 (just downloaded a week ago) and using winetricks.
